The highlight of our touristing in Concord was a early morning visit to the North Bridge, where the Revolutionary War began. It was awe-inspiring when you think about the meaning of the events that occurred here. These farmer-soldiers said, "Enough" to British tyranny and stood their ground.
On the grounds of this national shrine, is the Old Manse where a number of American authors lived and wrote. They included Emerson and Louisa Mae Alcott. We walked over the grounds for miles, enjoying beautiful scenery and experiencing a feeling of connectedness to our country's past.
