Still More Alaska Critters

We're finding Alaska wildlife endlessly fascinating! Almost every day, it's something new.

We've seen a large number of moose, but this was the first opportunity we've had to photograph a cow with twin calves. This is apparently quite common among Alaska's moose. Triplets are not unheard of.

When we stopped in a Alaskan state park near Copper Landing, we came across this little guy, a small squirrel. We've seen lots of them but this was too good an opportunity to pass up.

The last "critter" is also fairly common around Alaska. We passed this guy just outside of Soldatna on Funny River Road. A short time later when we came back up the same road, he was headed back to town after covering miles on his "road skis!" After we photographed this "specimen," we saw a whole troop of similar but younger kids in Girdwood, a ski area, today. Staying in shape for skiing is apparently serious business in Alaska!
